Khurda annex Nalco Cup state hockey title

Khurda won the title in the 14th Nalco Cup State Hockey Championship, edging out formidable Sundargarh 3-0 via penalty shoot out in the floodlit final here at Barabati Stadium today. Odisha Olympic Association secretary Asirbad Behera graced the closing ceremony as chief guest and handed over the trophy.

Hockey Odisha president Justice A S Naidu, secretary Pratap Satpathy and Nalco Corporate Mahila Samiti chairperson Prity Roy were present on the occasion. The Surendra Behera Memorial Trophy for best disciplined team was awarded to Angul. A total of 23 teams are taking part in the tournament.
